In the Computer Services section we describe the services that we offer our customers.
While we strive to make all of our customers happy no matter how big or small the
task at hand, we have listed below some of the more interesting solutions
provided to customers by BeThere, Inc. These examples show how we are ideally
suited to provide custom solutions tailored specifically to your needs.

Jefferson County Law Enforcement Center
When Jefferson County decided to build their new Law Enforcement Center the county administrator asked us to be their IT consultants. When we started the project, the building was still in the planning phases. Starting with the blue prints we helped to determine the physical layout of the network, including the locations of necessary network drops and helped to determine the correct manner in which to install the network cabling.
Once the planning phase was underway we then aided them in the purchase of 16 new workstations, with specifications tailored specifically to their needs.
We were then responsible for installation and configuration all of the machines on the network. This includes creating the network addressing scheme, the installation of the rack mounted equipment, and configuration of the DSL connection.
Once all of the machines were in place we were then responsible for reinstalling all of their proprietary software programs and the migration of all of the pertinent data from the old machines to the new workstations.

Given the size of the network, and the number of people who will be using the stations we decided to go with a centralized security model. Using this method we are able to fully control every station’s access the internet, and can centrally update virus definitions, avoiding network contamination because the individual user forgets to update their anti-virus software.
Since the opening of the building we have continued to offer on going support and are currently serving as their IT team.

Jefferson County EMA
We were contacted by the county and asked to link the EMA office to the existing network in the Transit Dept. Although they both reside in the same building this was particularly challenging due to the large auditorium separating the two sides of the building. The ceiling was too high to run the cable inside the auditorium, and due to dense walls of the former armory, running the cable outside and drilling in was not feasible either.

|
In order meet this challenge we ended up having to get quite creative. We decided to run a CAT-6 cable from the existing network out to the main switchboard for the phone system. We spliced the cat-6 cable and connected it up with two of the phone lines already running to the EMA office. We then went into the office, identified the two lines (which was no small feat in itself), and patched the phone lines back into the network by attaching a single CAT-6 cable to the two phone lines carrying the signal. Once this solution was implemented the EMA office was able to access all necessary network resources.

Old Capitol Motors
We have a client who owns a car lot and an auto parts store. Both of the buildings reside on the same property and are separated by about 800 feet. The area separating the two buildings is comprised of the car lot and some topographically challenging terrain, so right away we knew simply running cable would not be a feasible solution.

After assessing our options we elected to create a wireless bridge by mounting a directional high gain antenna, on each of the buildings. By configuring the access points on each end to run in bridge mode with the highest encryption level enabled, we were able to achieve complete network function between the two sites while maintaining the highest levels of security.

Peachtrees Restaurant & Catering
We were recently contacted by a new restaurant opening here in town. They planned on having three touch screen POS terminals in separate locations, that all link up to a single server. We ended up running CAT-6 network cable to the three locations spread across two floors and three rooms. Once the lines were installed we took the terminals, got them updated, installed the necessary POS software, and then set them up in the desired locations.

Wrens' City Building
Over the past couple of years we have done quite a bit of work for the city of Wrens. So when they approached us about switching from dial-up internet service to a DSL connection we were glad to be able to help. Because they were on dial-up service they had a minimal amount of network infrastructure. With the move to DSL they would now be able to share the internet connection with everyone in the building if the

proper infrastructure was put in place. That’s where we came in. The first phase of the network rollout was pretty straight forward. We had to install 4 new network drops and integrate part of the existing network structure into the new network. Within this job there were a couple aspects that turned out to be a bit of a challenge. First, the fire house needed to have access to the network. While the firehouse is connected to the City Hall building, it is about 400 feet from the server room and we had to go through several walls . So needless to say it was challenging. The other potential sticking point was connecting the gas department across the street. Because of the location it was impossible to run a cable to we had to come up with another solution all together. We decided to create a wireless bridge by mounting a high gain directional antenna on each of the buildings. By configuring the access points in bridge mode and applying 128 bit encryption we were able to bridge the buildings but still ensure the highest levels of security. The gas department now has access to all necessary network resources.
